1. What Seedsy is
Seedsy.org is an online venue operated by the Seedsy Cooperative that connects independent seed breeders, seed banks, collectors, and buyers. Seedsy is not the seller of record for member listings; transactions occur between members, with payment processing and escrow provided by the platform. The novelty subdomain (novelty.seedsy.org) operates with separate payment rails and additional access requirements.
2. Membership & the cooperative
Free accounts may browse, buy, and sell within listing limits. Paid memberships (Grower, Seed Bank) provide expanded tools. Members in good standing participate in the patronage dividend program described in our Co-op terms. Patronage points have no cash value until distributed as dividends at the cooperative's sole discretion per published rules. Dividends under $25 roll over to the following quarter.
3. Buying & selling
Sellers set prices and are responsible for accurate descriptions, phytosanitary compliance, packaging, and shipping. Buyers are responsible for confirming that any seed is legal to purchase, import, possess, and grow in their jurisdiction. Seedsy charges a 5% platform fee on completed sales and pays out seller balances weekly.
4. Prohibited items
Cannabis and any seed illegal under applicable federal or state law is prohibited on seedsy.org. See our Prohibited Items policy. Listings are subject to human and automated review; prohibited listings are removed and repeat violators banned.
5. Content & conduct
Members may not post unlawful, infringing, misleading, or harmful content; spam other members; circumvent the payment system; or scrape the marketplace. We may remove content and suspend accounts for violations.
6. Disclaimers & liability
Seeds are living products; germination and performance depend on growing conditions. Seedsy provides the venue "as is" and disclaims warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. Liability is capped at fees paid to Seedsy in the preceding 12 months. Disputes with sellers should first be raised through platform messaging; Seedsy may mediate and issue refunds at its discretion.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email 14 days before taking effect.
